Welcome!

The Manistee Catholic Central Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization with our own Board of Directors and 501(c)(3) status allows the foundation to receive gifts that are tax deductible to our donors in accordance with IRS Law. The Foundation's goal is to be able to make significant yearly contributions to the school so it is better equipped to handle the changing demands of educating our youth.

Since its inception in 1985, the MCCS Foundation has contributed over $1,200,000 to MCC and to support Catholic education in Manistee!

Announcements

Status Update

Although Manistee Catholic Central has been closed, the MCCS Foundation intends to continue our mission of supporting Catholic education in the Manistee Community.  We ask for your patients as we are working with Fr. James Bearss and Divine Mercy Parish to re-evaluate and help rebuild the Catholic education system here in Manistee.  If you wish to express your desire to reopen a Catholic school in Manistee, we strongly encourage that Divine Mercy parishioners complete participate in the 10-year Parish Planning survey.

In the meantime, our Board voted unanimously to continue our mission to support Catholic education in Manistee by working with the Diocese of Grand Rapids and Ludington Area Catholic School to fund daily transportation for students from Manistee to Ludington Area Catholic School.  Pleae contact Mrs. Jan Bigalke, Principal at Ludington Area Catholic School, if you are interested in utilizing this service.

Saber Strong Campaign

The Saber Strong Campaign was an effort to support Manistee Catholic Central for the 2024-2025 school year.  In light of the school closure, the Foundation is closing out the fundraising component of the campaign.  See the below update for information regarding refund requests.

Out of respect for all those who have given so generously we have set the deadline to request a refund of donations for August 31, 2024.  Donors may request a refund one of two ways:

  • browsing to www.manisteeccsfoundation.org and filling out the “Contact us” form at the bottom of the page, or

  • completing a refund request form and mailing it to the MCCS Foundation

Refund requests are sent to our treasurer and we will follow up with your request within 3-5 business days of receipt.  Any unclaimed donations at the end of the refund period will be transferred into the MCC Foundation general fund and will no longer be eligible for refund.

June 18, 2024 Update

The MCCS Foundation has suspended the original June 30th deadline to request a refund of donated funds due to the fact that the appeal process is still ongoing.  A new deadline to request refunds will be decided at the July 15th MCCS Foundation Board Meeting, which will be posted on our Zeffy donation page and our MCCS Foundation website.  Please be assured that donors will have time under the new deadline date to request a refund.
